I was due to have brachytherapy in 2015, but my PSA dropped, and the procedure was cancelled. Since then, my PSA has been drifting up, I have been downgraded to watchful waiting, and my consultant advises me to stay on watchful waiting. By not having the procedure, I have avoided any possible side effects of brachytherapy. The downside is not knowing what is happening to the cancer, other than the 6 monthly PSA tests.
