Zoledronic acid in Stampede trial

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I had not expected this degree of tiredness and deconditioning

Very time consuming- 28 chemo clinic visits over 2 years. Marked tiredness after each dose.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

It was manageable, I really would not have liked surgery and overall I felt I was able to live my best life. I stopped all treatment 10 years ago and my quality of life is now very good indeed.

We’ll it was part of a clinical trial…

Radiotherapy

Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

Give it time - most of it stopped a month after radiotherapy

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Very exhausting

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

No choice really, presenting PSA. WAS 330 and my MRI looked like a horror show

Hormone Therapy (injections and relugolix tablets)

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

Grin and bear it

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Felt completely deconditioned , tired, had to come to terms with being a eunuch while on treatment. Put on masses of weight

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

After 2 years I put on so much weight I developed diabetes and we decided to stop hormone therapy. I lost the weight, the diabetes went fully away and I have stayed in full remission off treatment for more than 10 years - and am no longer a eunuch.
