Active Surveillance

How this treatment impacted my life the most

psa tests every 3-6 months anxiety, thoughts of cancer always at the back of your mind, fatigue, loss of sex life, feelings of less of a man, worrying about wife, family, son if i passed away. Anxiety of active surveillance becoming a higher Gleason score and then further treatment needed, the unknown and the known side effects of treatment further down the line. The problems with Covid and never really seeing a consultant anymore. having to push for further MRI scans feeling of being forgotten once diagnosed.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

As a low Gleason score hopefully slow growing tumor, didn't want surgery at 60 years old with possible incontinence and other side effects. Trusted the Consultants advice but you need to be pro active and chase results and requests for MRI scans . It has to be ACTIVE Surveillance.
