Hormone Therapy (injections and relugolix tablets)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Just to be aware that there will as the consultant said, certainly some side effects we are all different but there is help out there, I think mainly to cope with the side effects rather than eliminate them

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

I spoke with some very understanding people at cancer UK,certainly felt better after speaking with them, always advise sufferers to contact them or Macmillan also, very professional and understanding

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

Can’t explain why, but I did feel quite emotional also some anxiety but not a great deal, always spoke to cancer UK made me feel better

How this treatment impacted my life the most

For me it was the hormone injections, was advised I could expect some side effects, after the 1st injection it was 3 months before the next injection, and I thought I was lucky, almost no side effects, after the 2nd injection, total different story, my sex life almost disappeared over night, hot flushes came a lot tiredness, anxiety, they were all hard to deal with, but again spoke often to cancer UK, and always felt better after this

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because I am a welder not a cancer specialist, so I took the advice of my consultant
