Hormone Therapy (tablets)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Not at all.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

It was not difficult and I was already taking tablets daily so it was just an addition to these.

Radiotherapy

Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

Wear a pad all the time.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

A 45 minute drive to the hospital every week day for 28 days was a hassle, however the hospital staff were fantastic, kind, encouraging and greeted me with a smile every time I went.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because it worked and despite the bowel problems afterwards it was worth the hassle.

High Dose Rate Brachytherapy

Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

Wear a pad daily and at night.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Bowel problems mostly which took three years to get over. I had several visits to the hospital for investigations which showed proctitis which caused bleeding on occasions.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Because it worked and my PSA has been 0.03 ever since. I have it tested every six months with a call from the brachytherapy nurse once a year.
