Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Too old for the removal op.

Watchful Waiting

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Basically, I was notified that I had prostate cancer overseas after a scan at a highly rated hospital. The local Scottish hospital took 10 random samples which were negative and didn't seem very interested in the evidence from overseas. They subsequently told me that I was signed off and to go to my GP if I had any future problems. 6 months after the biopsies, they phoned to say that they wanted to do a scan, presumably because someone had looked at my overseas results properly. They said that there was a small area that they wanted to look more closely at, but it was probably just inflammation, and I was ok to go away for a holiday for 5 months. When I got back they did a scan and by that time the cancer had breached the prostate wall and I was prescribed female hormone treatment and radiotherapy.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

No

Why did I give this answer?

See above
