I have to accept that this is part of the treatment to keep the disease at bay. My wife is very undestanding of the unfortunate side effects.

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

The sweats are an unfortunate side effect that I have to live with. My wife is very understanding. I have found that daily walks reduce the effects of tiredness and helps to control weight gain.

Daily walks/ exercise help to improve my mood and to reduce weight gain. It is very easy to sit and do nothing!

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I have lost interest in sex. I have to ensure that my moods do not disrupt family life.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

I understand the reasons for the treatment as testosterone can be the driver for the cancer.

I found the 2 weeks after each chemo infusion difficult feeling tired, very dry and sore mouth and reduced appetite. I had no interest in sex. However, remember why you are going through the treatment! To make you better!

Stick with it! The treatment is temporary although the effects of the steroids (weight gain) take time to wear off. I did not experience hair loss to the top of my head, but did to other parts of the body (chest and eyebrows).

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Within days of each treatment I felt very tired, achy particulary legs and feet, dry sore mouth. Understand that it is a very strong poison but the effects will wear off at the end of the treatment.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

The consultant explained the reasons for 'offering' me the treatment which I understood. He wanted to 'cure me'.
