Radiotherapy

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

I think it is a side effect of the hormone therapy

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

My advice is to keep training and keep active don't stop, Do some form of resistance training and some aerobic training to lessen the side effects . If don't think I will be hitting any Personal bests.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

After being told you have a cancer that kills people you are going to be emotional it is understandable. You also get the whammy of changes due to hormone therapy. Some days you just have to tell people "I'm sorry I am just having a bad day" For the memory fog I just have to write everything down, and all appointments go in to the calendar otherwise i just forget.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

There are some lingering side effects and I will be on the hormone therapy for another 3 years which can be a bit depressing if I think about it. That said the treatment has extended my life. It makes you see life differently

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I would have the treatment against because I think it saved my life. I had no side or tell tale signs when I got my first PSA test the score I got back was 133 the second test a week later was 150. From the various scans I had it showed that the cancer had just start to move outside the prostate so radio therapy with hormone therapy was the really the only option. Five months post radiotherapy my PSA score last month is 0.24
