Chemotherapy

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

The 18 month testosterone hormone blocker injection I had reduces sexual interest to zero, shrinks penis by 25%, testicles to mash. I had dry orgasms as a result of the biopsy

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

Weight lifting and daily exercise is a must. Reduction of food intake by 25% is a must

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

It’s ok to be angry for no reason! It isn’t you it’s the blocker

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The chemo was bearable and manageable .. hydration was key. A cold cap meant I retained my head of hair though lost everything else. The testosterone blocker had the biggest effect and I stopped after 28 months though they wanted me to be on it for three years. Brachy was ok though it has effected my ability to urinate especially at night. Radio didn’t seem to have any side effects

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

Since treatment I have regained muscle strength by regular weights and emotionally more stable. Currently Psa says I am in remission. It has taken 2 years of my active life away but if cured then ok. Sex life is poor and shrinkage of penis is frustrating
