I found I had some pain and discomfort following surgery. It's important when asked that you relate this to your GP/consultant/surgeon/nurse as there is no need to suffer. Men tend to have the cowboys don't cry attitude.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

A journey through cancer is an emotional time not only for the person diagnosed but the whole of the family and anyone close to them. It brings a lot of things into perspective of what is really important in your life. There will be ups and down and good days and bad days buts it's important to remember it's a journey that you are not taking alone and seeking support is not a weakness.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The positive impact is that 7 years and counting I'm still alive in good health and cancer free. Negative impacts are ED to a certain extent and I took an early retirement because of being unable to carry on working In my chosen field.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

With what was available at the time of diagnosis I have no regrets at my chosen treatment. There are more options now so if I was diagnosed today I might have chosen a different route.
