Olaparib (Lynparza)

Tips and advice for any physical side effects of treatment

Exercise as much as you are able and sit with your feet up when resting.

Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

Keep your brain active by doing puzzles, having conversations, exercise as much as you are able. Walk among nature, mindfulness training, talking therapies. Join walking or cycling groups.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The effects on my blood leading to slight anaemia increases fatigue from hormone therapies. The need to take anti-coagulents to prevent pulmonary embolisms increases bruising and bleeding from minor cuts which take longer to heal up.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Not sure

Why did I give this answer?

The treatment is part of a clinical trial and the combination of olaparib and abiraterone has kept my psa down. If there was a better treatment with fewer side effects then I would take it.
