Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Whilst unpleasant I found a vacuum pump useful

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The biggest impact was erectile dysfunction

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Not sure

Why did I give this answer?

I had a radical prostatectomy with the belief that my cancer was confined to my prostate. The cancer had spread outside the prostate, PT3 N1. If I knew what I know now I may have opted for radiotherapy.

Hormone Therapy (injections and relugolix tablets)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

No

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I was very wary embarking on Hormone Treatment but to date (only 5 weeks), I have had no side effects.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

With rising PSA and PSMA Pet Scans not detecting any tumour I feel that I need to undertake any recognised/recommended treatment.

Hormone Therapy (injections and relugolix tablets)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

The biggest impact has been on my sex life, closely followed by the impact on my emotions since I have been on hormone treatment.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

No

Why did I give this answer?

I would have embarked on a course of radiotherapy/hormone treatment much earlier (PSA 0.2?)
