Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Talking to others who had partial nerve sparing surgery like me, it can take several months to regain a satisfactory degree of erectile performance. I'm trying a longer spell of Tadalifil to help but early stages of this.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

As I'm retired, it was more about physical restrictions on what I could do until I regained the strength I had pre op. This took about 10 weeks - physically aside from erectile dysfunction (early doors) I am good. I'm very fortunate as did not have any incontinence issues.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I was put off by the increased risk of many more side effects down the radiology route, particularly potential issues with bowel. This is why I went for surgery, as well as comfort of knowing that the cancer was being removed.
