Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Continue with the pelvic floor exercises. Stay positive and consider trying out Viagra, it helped me.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Other than having to use a catheter following surgery ( a bit uncomfortable) I can honestly say that the treatment didn’t really impact my life in any negative way. After receiving the diagnosis my decision to go for surgery was made immediately and following surgery and subsequent follow ups I feel extremely positive going forward as I am now cancer free and am embracing life 100%. I lost my father to this disease and he had no idea what was wrong with him, by the time he was diagnosed the cancer had spread and the prognosis was terminal. Following my prostate diagnosis I have impressed on my friends to get tested……getting tested and getting the disease caught early stage has probably saved my life.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

My recovery has been really good, I am now back at the gym, working out and feeling great. Although I was mentally prepared for the potential side effect I believe a positive attitude, and following the surgeons advice on recovery progression has helped me immensely. I do not suffer any of the post operation side effects to any noticeable degree
