Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Post op my ability to get a full erection was pretty much non-existent. That said my sex drive was still alive and kicking and we had found a way to enjoy an active sex life again and we’re exploring other options to get over the erectile issue. However, following my post op PSA test which cane back at 1.5 I was put back onto Zolodex which, though a necessary evil, has trashed my sex drive completely.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Post op recovery went well, with no incontinence issues. Disappointing news that all the cancer has spread into my abdominal lymph nodes so an aggressive course of Chemo/Radiotherapy has been started. Week 4 of chemo and I am sure that understanding that Chemo is actually helping me has meant that so far its been a relatively good experience.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I was a fit active 58 year old with everything to live for. I am now a fit active 59 year old with everything to live for. Nothing has changed except the treatment and thats how I intend to keep going, positive and embracing each treatment until I beat this thing.
