Hormone Therapy (tablets)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Loss of libido since having hormone manipulation treatment.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

It has reduced my PSA to undetectable which had slowly increased after my radical prostatectomy.

Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I have been unable to attain an erection but did manage dry orgasms.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I wanted to be rid of the cancer and was offered a radical prostatectomy so I took the chance.

Hormone Therapy (injections and relugolix tablets)

How this treatment impacted my life the most

Six months after my Radical Prostatectomy my PSA began to rise and following a scan it was found that cancer had spread to my pelvic bone. I was immediately put on Hormone Manipulation Treatment, first tablets then injections. I was offered radiotherapy to hopefully remove the cancer from my bones. Unfortunately I have two inguinal hernias and these will have to be repaired before I can have the radiotherapy. This is all in hand and hopefully I shall start radiotherapy in a couple of months or so. The hormone injections have reduced my libido, it doesn't worry me too much and my partner is very understanding.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I shudder to think of the consequences of not having the treatment. I have complete trust in all my Consultants and follow their advice without question. So many people are involved in my treatment and I am positive they have my best interests at heart.
