Radical Prostatectomy (Surgery)

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

Use it or lose it, is what my surgeon told me. Also, medication daily is amazing! I can manage without, to an extent, but with… Dry orgasms are par for the course once the prostate is removed, but some clear fluid does come out, sometimes.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

I think it made me determined not to become a leaky stereotype. I lost weight a got fit before the op, then hit the gym as soon as possible afterwards. Walking exercise started the day after I got home, and ramped up to 5 miles on day 9, still catheterised. The squeezy app is brilliant. I had occasional leaks in the beginning, but now hardly ever.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

It appears to have worked, and I don’t think I could cope with the “timebomb” of leaving it in.
