Tips and advice for any bladder or bowel side effects of treatment

Make sure that you regularly do the Pelvic Floor exercises before the operation and after the operation (after the removal of the catheter). I started about 8 weeks before & have been doing them regularly since the operation and they have significantly helped. I am now nearly fully continent again. My Consultant said that most men 'turn a corner' around 8-10 weeks after the operation and in my case he was correct.

Tips and advice for any sexual side effects of treatment

As I had a non nerve spare operation I am no longer able to obtain an erection naturally but this is a small price to pay to be subsequently given the 'all clear'.

Having a non nerve spare Prostatectomy I can no longer obtain a natural erection but this is a small price to pay to be given the 'all clear'.

Why did I give this answer?

Having been told that the Prostate Cancer was self contained and having considered Radiotherapy, Brachytherapy & Prostatectomy it made sense to have the Prostate removed thereby removing the Cancer.
