Tips and advice for any mental and emotional side effects of treatment

Talk to people you trust. Support other people who are going through the same thing.

How this treatment impacted my life the most

For some time afterwards I felt absolutely shattered. It has taken a while for me to start feeling I’ve recovered physically. I’ve had quite a lot of anxiety around going out in case I have problems with my waterworks. I’ve always been prone to depression, but I don’t think I was prepared for the impact cancer would have on my mental health. I still feel that I haven’t really ‘processed’ it all.

If I had to do it all over again, would I choose the same treatment?

Yes

Why did I give this answer?

I did as much research as I could on treatment options so I could make an informed decision. I still feel surgery was the right option for me.
